WACC Privacy Policy

Wisconsin African Chamber of Commerce · Effective July 2026 · Last updated July 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Wisconsin African Chamber of Commerce ("WACC," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information about members, event attendees, and visitors to wisacc.org.

1. Information We Collect

Membership information. When you apply for membership, we collect the information on the signup form: name, organization name and contact person (where applicable), mailing address, email address, phone number, and website. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor and are never stored by WACC.

Event and program information. When you register for WACC events or programs, we collect registration details such as name, contact information, and attendance.

Website information. wisacc.org may collect standard technical information (such as browser type and pages visited) to operate and improve the site.

2. How We Use Information

We use member and attendee information to administer memberships (including billing, renewals, receipts, and member records); operate the WACC member directory (see Section 4); communicate with members about WACC programs, events, benefits, renewals, and chamber news, including by email newsletter; organize and manage events and programs; and meet legal, accounting, and governance obligations.

We do not sell member or attendee information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Service Providers

MembershipWorks provides membership management, member records, event registration, and member communications. Stripe provides payment processing; card details are handled by Stripe under its own privacy and security practices, and WACC does not store card numbers. These providers process information only to provide their services to WACC.

4. Member Directory

Member listings may appear in the WACC member directory on wisacc.org. Members control their own listing through their member account, including the option not to be listed and the option not to display a street address. Directory listings display only the information the member chooses to include.

5. Event Photography and Recording

WACC events may be photographed, video recorded, or livestreamed. Photos and recordings may be used in WACC communications and promotional materials, including the website, newsletters, and social media. By attending a WACC event, you consent to this use. If you prefer that a specific image of you not be used, contact contact@wisacc.org and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

6. Email Communications

Members and subscribers may receive transactional emails (receipts, renewal notices, account messages) and informational emails (newsletters, event announcements). You may opt out of informational emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting contact@wisacc.org. Transactional emails related to an active membership cannot be opted out of, as they are necessary to administer the membership.

7. Data Retention and Security

We retain membership records for as long as needed for membership administration, legal, and governance purposes. We rely on the security practices of our service providers, including encryption of payment information by our payment processor, and we limit administrative access to member records to authorized WACC personnel.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may review and update your information at any time through your member account or by emailing membership@wisacc.org. You may request a copy of the information we hold about you or ask that it be corrected or deleted (subject to records we must retain) by emailing contact@wisacc.org.

9. Children

WACC memberships, programs, and the website are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted at wisacc.org. Material changes will be communicated to members by email.
